Author Lecture & Book Signing with Michael Bart West Bloomfield, MI November 09, 2008 at 1:30 p.m.
"Until Our Last Breath is the heroic and true story of Michael Bart's parents, Leizer and Zenia , who met and fell in love, then fled the Vilna ghetto to be part of the resistance group, the Avengers."
Michael Bart gave a PowerPoint presentation about his book on the 70th anniversary of Kristallnacht. On this day, November 9th 1938, the Nazis unleashed a wave of pogroms against Germany's Jews. In the space of a few hours, thousands of Synagogues and Jewish businesses and homes were damaged or destroyed. The event came to be known as Kristallnacht "Night of Broken Glass" for the shattered store windowpanes that carpeted German streets.
